You can add a free AI chatbot to your website with Techvia AI Bot. The Free plan costs $0, needs no card and has no time limit. It gives you one bot, 100 answers a month and up to 20 pages of knowledge. The bot answers visitor questions using only your website and documents, and it links to the sources it used. Every new account also starts with a 14-day trial that has higher limits, so you can test properly before you settle on the free plan.

This guide covers what the free plan includes and what it leaves out, who it suits, how to set it up in about ten minutes, and how agencies can use it.

What “free” means on Techvia AI Bot

Techvia AI Bot’s Free plan is free forever. It isn’t a trial that runs out:

  • $0 a month, no card required.
  • No time limit. The plan keeps running as long as you use it.
  • The same product as paid plans. The free bot uses the same crawler, the same cited answers and the same chat widget. The differences are the limits listed below.

When you sign up you start on a 14-day trial with 500 answers, up to 3 bots and 200 pages per bot. When the trial ends, nothing is deleted. The account moves to the Free plan automatically unless you’ve chosen a paid plan.

What the free plan doesn’t include

The Free plan has limits. These are the ones that matter most:

  • The badge stays. Free bots always show “Powered by Techvia AI Bot”. Hiding it needs a white-label plan (Agency Lite and up).
  • No hosted chat page, bot address or custom domain. On the Free plan you add the bot to your site as a widget. A shareable full-page chat, a name.bots.techvia.software address and a custom domain such as help.yourbrand.com all need a paid plan, and the custom domain needs a white-label one.
  • Balanced model only. Free bots always answer with the Balanced model tier.
  • Inactive accounts pause. If a Free account has no activity for 30 days, its bot is paused. Log in and press Resume to start it again. Nothing is deleted.
  • When the 100 answers run out, the bot doesn’t go dark. It shows your contact details instead, so visitors can still reach you. You get a warning email at 80% of the month’s answers.

Who the free AI chatbot is for

Small businesses and personal websites

If your site gets a modest number of questions, 100 answers a month covers a lot of them: opening hours, pricing, services, booking steps, returns. The bot answers from your own pages, so it won’t make up a policy you don’t have. When it can’t find an answer, it says so and shows your contact details. Visitors can also leave their email, and you get it with the full conversation.

Documentation, help and FAQ pages

A product guide, a course FAQ or a club’s rules page often fits within 20 pages. You can upload a PDF or Word file too. Every answer cites the page or document it came from, so readers can check it.

Agencies and studios

Agencies can use the free plan to try the product on their own website before they offer it to clients. You build a real bot, see how it handles real visitor questions, and learn the setup before you quote anyone.

Client work needs more than the free plan offers: one bot per client, the agency’s own branding without the Techvia badge, and a custom domain per client. Here’s how the free tier and the 14-day trial fit an agency workflow:

  1. Use the 14-day trial for pitches. Up to 3 bots and 200 pages each lets you build a demo bot on a prospect’s real website and show it in the sales meeting. (Our agency playbook for selling AI chatbots covers how to run that meeting.)
  2. Keep one bot running on the free plan. Your own website is a good place for it, so prospects can try a working bot whenever they visit.
  3. Move to a white-label plan when you sign clients. Agency Lite includes 5 bots, 5,000 answers a month shared across them, the badge removed, custom domains, and client logins that don’t use team seats. Read how white-label AI chatbots work for agencies for the details.

How to set up your free AI chatbot

The whole setup usually takes under ten minutes. Crawling a larger site can take a few minutes longer.

  1. Sign up at ai-bot-app.techvia.software. You get an email with a link, and you set your password from that link.
  2. Create a bot from your website address. Techvia AI Bot crawls the site in the background and builds the bot’s knowledge from the pages it finds.
  3. Check what it learned in the Sources and Pages tabs. Add a PDF, Word or Markdown file, or write a Q&A entry for anything missing.
  4. Test it in the Test chat tab. Ask the questions your visitors usually ask and check the citations. Our pre-launch chatbot testing checklist has a fuller list.
  5. Set the greeting, fallback contact and branding. Choose your brand colour and logo, add up to three suggested questions, and enter the contact details visitors see when the bot can’t help.
  6. Install it. Copy the script tag from the Embed and hosting tab and paste it into your site, just before the closing </body> tag. WordPress sites can upload the plugin zip from the same tab instead. More options are in how to add an AI chatbot to your website.

Getting the most out of 20 pages

20 pages is enough if you choose them well:

  • Point the bot at the right section. The crawler stays under the start address’s path. If you start it at yoursite.com/help, it learns only /help and the pages under it, so the 20-page limit isn’t spent on blog posts or legal pages.
  • Use one PDF for long material. A price list, menu or handbook uploaded as one file can hold far more content than a single web page.
  • Fill gaps with Q&A entries. The Answers tab lists the questions the bot couldn’t answer. Write a short Q&A entry for each one that comes up often.
  • Re-crawl after you update your site. The bot re-crawls weekly on its own, and you can start a re-crawl from the Sources tab at any time.

Upgrading from the free plan

You can upgrade from the Free plan whenever you need more answers, more bots or white-label branding. Your bot, its knowledge and its conversations stay exactly as they are when you move up.

PlanMonthly priceAnswers per monthBotsWhite-label
Free$01001No
Starter$291,5001No
Agency Lite$495,0005Yes
Agency$9910,00025Yes
Scale$29930,000UnlimitedYes

Annual billing costs ten times the monthly price, so you get two months free. Small businesses that outgrow 100 answers usually move to Starter. Agencies taking on clients usually move to Agency Lite to get white-label branding. Current details are on the Techvia AI Bot pricing section.

How Techvia AI Bot differs from a general chatbot

Techvia AI Bot isn’t a general-purpose assistant like ChatGPT. It answers only from the content you give it, and it says when it can’t find the answer instead of guessing. For a business website, that’s usually what you want: answers that match your actual policies, with a link to the page each one came from. Read why source citations matter in an AI chatbot for more.

It’s also not a live-chat inbox, a voice bot, a WhatsApp bot or a drag-and-drop flow builder. It doesn’t take actions such as booking appointments. If you need those things, a different kind of tool will fit better.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Techvia AI Bot free plan really free?

Yes. The Free plan costs $0 a month, needs no card and has no end date. It includes one bot, 100 answers a month, 20 pages per bot and 5 MB of file storage, and the widget shows the “Powered by Techvia AI Bot” badge.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. You sign up with an email address. New accounts start on a 14-day trial and then move to the Free plan automatically, with nothing deleted.

What happens when my free chatbot uses its 100 answers?

The bot stays online and shows the contact details you set instead of answering, so visitors can still reach you. You get a warning email when 80% of the month’s answers are used, and the count resets the next month.

Can I upgrade from the free plan later?

Yes, at any time. Your bot, knowledge and conversations carry over to the new plan, so you don’t have to set anything up again.

Can I remove the “Powered by Techvia AI Bot” badge on the free plan?

No. Removing the badge needs a white-label plan, which starts at Agency Lite. White-label plans also add custom domains and agency-branded client reports.

Can an agency use the free plan for client websites?

The free plan has one bot and keeps the Techvia badge, so it works best as a demo on the agency’s own site. For client work, the 14-day trial (up to 3 bots) suits pitches. Agency Lite and higher plans give you a bot per client, white-label branding and client logins.

Will my free bot answer questions that aren’t on my website?

No. Techvia AI Bot answers only from your crawled pages, uploaded files and Q&A entries. When the answer isn’t there, it says so and shows your contact details.

Does the free plan work with WordPress?

Yes. You can paste the script tag into your theme’s footer or a custom-code setting, or upload the ready-made WordPress plugin zip from the bot’s Embed and hosting tab.
